PRACTICAL LIFE
SCHOOL CANTEEN
Eating healthy is smart!
The meal is a moment of sharing between the children, but also with the educational staff and teachers, who have lunch with the students and ensure that all the dishes are tasted. Our chef, from the company Compass, is committed to offering dishes that combine pleasure and sustainable development:
- Organic fruit and vegetables Swiss meat Mainly local products A vegetarian meal every two weeks Varied and balanced dishes Festive meals for certain events A friendly atmosphere thanks to a moment of calm beforehand Particular attention to respect and waste.
Regular meetings between the Chef and the students punctuate the year: the children can thus formulate their questions about the dishes or their composition.
Children have the option of eating every day (half board), on certain days (occasional meals) or being external.
MEAL TIMES
11:50 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. for 9th, 8th and 7th grades.
12:35 p.m. – 1:10 p.m. for kindergartens and 11th and 10th grades.
DIRECTED STUDIES
Accompanied homework and lessons
Pupils in the 11th, 10th, 9th, 8th and 7th grades wishing to work on their homework at school can do so every day from 3:35 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. with the teachers.
The children revise their lessons and do their daily homework, supervised and helped by teachers.
During this period, the teacher aims to provide students with the tools to gain autonomy.
Above all, the study must offer an evolving framework to help students in their learning. They can question the teacher at any time and ask for explanations. Efforts are focused on lesson learning, verification of knowledge acquisition and methods of deepening.
THE LIBRARY
Books in French and English
The library remains one of the favorite places for students, either during class hours specifically dedicated to this activity, or during lunch or study time when their work is finished.
The children take over this hushed universe and indulge in calm reading for long periods of time.
With several thousand books in French and English, the library stands out as a welcoming and resourceful space.
SCHOOL TRANSPORT
Make your daily life easier
The Institute offers a school bus service on the left bank of the lake. This service is limited to the number of seats on the buses. The drivers come from 7:00 in the morning and bring the children back from 4:30 p.m. Conditions of good conduct and calm are essential.

WEARING THE UNIFORM
The sense of belonging to Notre-Dame du Lac
Many Genevans have visited Notre-Dame. Many are also those who come back to see us or reconnect. Having the perception of being part of a spiritual and human family develops true and legitimate pride in children, teachers and all members of the Institution's community. The daily uniform contributes to this feeling of belonging.
The wearing of the uniform for the children of the establishment follows rules linked to the functioning of the Institute (special days or other days of the week).
APEN DL
The Parents' Association of Notre-Dame du Lac
The purpose of the parents' association is, in particular, to establish collaboration with the management of the establishment and the teaching staff with a view to developing good educational conditions and facilities at the Institute, and to promote all curricular and extracurricular activities. It also provides a link between the parents (or the legal representatives of the students) and the Institut Notre-Dame du Lac.
Its resources are made up of membership fees (set by the General Assembly of APENDL), donations and receipts from any events it organises.
This association is only open to parents and legal representatives in charge of students attending the Institut Notre-Dame du Lac.
